Aragon by the numbers after one year live on Ethereum mainnet

On October 30, 2018 Aragon officially went live on Ethereum mainnet with the release of Aragon 0.6 Alba.

This was a huge milestone for the project, as previously the Aragon client was only usable on various testnets and only a few people had the opportunity to try Aragon on mainnet. After the releae of 0.6 Alba people could use Aragon to secure real value and make meaningful decisions using the Aragon client and smart contracts for governance.

Since the mainnet launch, a lot has happened on the development side: there have been two more major releases (0.7 and 0.8) and many minor releases. The number of Aragon apps available directly through the client on mainnet has increased from the three default apps (Tokens, Voting, and Finance) to over double that following the release of the Agent app and the new Open Enterprise suite. There are also mainnet apps available for optional installation using aragonCLI, such as the EmpowerTheDAO apps. Thanks to the dedicated work of the Aragon developer community, more apps are coming down the pipeline as well.

Along with these impressive development achievements, there has been a steadily increasing amount of activity on-chain as individuals and organizations find uses for the powerful governance capabilities that Aragon offers.

The Aragon One team spent the past few weeks working in collaboration with the Scout team to use their blockchain analysis tools to show Aragon's progress in on-chain usage after one year live on Ethereum mainnet.

The result is captured in the infographic below; we welcome your feedback on what statistics you would like to see in the future if there are any that interest you but weren't included this time.

Happy one year on mainnet, Aragon! 🎉
